About Psy Protocol
Psy Protocol is a Layer-1 blockchain that rebranded from the QED protocol. It runs a Proof-of-Useful-Work (PoUW) consensus where users generate transaction proofs locally and the network aggregates them with recursive zero-knowledge proofs. This allows the chain to reach very high throughput while maintaining proof-of-work trustlessness.
The project’s Psychonaut Incubation Program is now live on the Psy Testnet. Psy is positioned as a smart-contract platform that leverages “useful proof of work” and zero-knowledge proofs to support ultra-large-scale Web3 applications.
During its public-testnet launch, the team introduced a blockchain architecture capable of internet-level throughput with Bitcoin-grade security. In internal tests, millions of transactions per second were reportedly processed thanks to client-side ZK proofs and a horizontally scalable state model.
Funding and Backing
Psy Protocol has raised US$9 million across multiple venture rounds. A seed round on 3 July 2024 brought in US$6 million, with Blockchain Capital as a disclosed investor.
Other backers include Arrington Capital, Draper Dragon, Anagram Crypto, Paper Ventures, Valhalla Capital, StarkWare, Edessa Capital, UTXO, F2Pool, and ViaBTC Capital, among others.
This strong investor lineup, alongside ecosystem partners and mining pools, indicates Psy has the resources and support to continue scaling development.
