What was Trenches (tren.ch)?
Trenches was marketed as an Attention Market and meme coin exchange built on the Solana blockchain. It generated hype by offering a "Stars" points program where users had to trade real SOL to earn allocations for a speculative $TRENCH token.
However, the anonymous development team vanished and the primary domain (tren.ch) went completely offline in late August 2026. This is a common exit scam tactic in the meme coin space—hyping a platform, extracting trading fees and volume from early users, and abruptly pulling the plug.
Post-Mortem: Risks & Red Flags We Spotted
- Anonymous Team: No verified founders or public identities were ever linked to the project.
- High-Capital Forced Farming: The project forced users to risk real capital trading highly volatile meme coins just to earn arbitrary points ("Stars").
- Sudden Disappearance: The website going down without prior notice is the definitive indicator of an exit scam.
- Phishing Vultures: Once the main site went down, bad actors immediately spun up fake mirrors (like
