The Arbitrum Foundation has announced a July 1, 2026, deadline for project teams to submit applications for its Long-Term Incentives Pilot Program. The program, funded with 25 million ARB tokens, aims to support sustainable growth on the Arbitrum network, a leading Ethereum scaling solution. Proposals will be evaluated by the Arbitrum DAO, or decentralized autonomous organization, for a community vote.

Program Details and Application Process

The foundation opened the application window on May 28. All proposals must be submitted through a dedicated application form by 23:59 UTC on July 1. The pilot program is designed to fund initiatives that provide long-term value to the Arbitrum ecosystem, moving beyond short-term incentive campaigns.

According to the official announcement, the 25 million ARB grant pool will be distributed among selected projects. The foundation has stated it will not act as a gatekeeper. Instead, it will compile qualified proposals for a final vote by the Arbitrum DAO's community of token holders.

Focus on Sustainable Growth

The initiative shifts focus from one-time rewards to ongoing, value-driven incentives. The foundation encourages proposals for programs that could run for six months or longer. Eligible projects must already be live on an Arbitrum network, such as Arbitrum One, Arbitrum Nova, or Arbitrum Orbit.

The goal is to identify and fund mechanisms that drive consistent user engagement and protocol usage. This approach contrasts with typical airdrop farming, where users complete tasks primarily to receive a token distribution.

Why This Matters

This program represents a significant experiment in ecosystem funding managed by a DAO. It tests a model for allocating substantial capital—25 million ARB is worth tens of millions of dollars—through decentralized governance. The success or failure of the funded initiatives could influence how other layer-2 networks structure their own growth incentives. The July 1 deadline gives project teams a limited window to prepare and submit their plans for community review.
