What was HoodTracker?
HoodTracker was marketed as an AttentionFi platform on Robinhood Chain that scored X posts and ranked creators on a public leaderboard. It claimed to reward people for measurable online attention by tracking the $HDTX ticker.
However, HoodTracker was an independent, anonymous project with absolutely no affiliation with Robinhood Markets. The development team never publicly disclosed their identities. Following the campaign's snapshot date, the platform abruptly went into "maintenance" mode, trapping users who purchased the required token.
Did the HoodTracker airdrop happen?
No. The "Genesis Campaign" snapshot was scheduled for July 19, 2026. The developers promised that 30% of the token supply would be distributed to users holding $HDTX in their wallets.
Instead of a distribution, the website went down. There is currently no official way to claim tokens, and the project appears to be abandoned. This is a common tactic in crypto where bad actors hype a token requirement, let the community buy it up (pumping the price), and then drain the liquidity or abandon the project right as the snapshot hits.
How users earned points (Obsolete)
Note: This information is preserved for archival purposes only. Do not attempt these tasks.
Original X posts containing the exact text $HDTX were the main source of points, scored based on reach and engagement. Users were also incentivized to refer others and post specific "HoodPack" templates.
Most dangerously, eligibility required holding $HDTX in a linked wallet. The allocation model was heavily weighted toward the average $HDTX balance held during the campaign. Users who purchased this token to boost their scores have likely lost their capital.
Post-Mortem: Risks & Red Flags We Spotted
Looking back, several red flags pointed to this outcome:
- Forced Holding: You could earn points for free, but wallets with zero $HDTX were explicitly excluded from the drop. This forced users to buy a highly speculative token just to participate.
- Anonymous Team: No named founder or development team was ever found. When an anonymous team forces you to buy their token, the rug pull risk is astronomical.
- Missing Audits: There was no public smart contract audit for the platform.
- Misleading Branding: Using the "HoodTracker" name on the Robinhood Chain tricked some users into assuming it was an official corporate product. It was not.
