What is idOS?

idOS (short for “identity operating system”) is a decentralized identity and data storage network designed to give users a portable, reusable identity for the stablecoin and broader Web3 economy. Instead of repeating KYC for every app, users verify once, store encrypted credentials in the idOS Storage Network, and then selectively grant access to dApps, wallets, neobanks, and other platforms.

The IDOS token is an ERC-20 initially launching on Arbitrum One. It secures the storage network via staking, pays for data read/write operations, and will be used in governance over time. A large portion of the 1B total token supply is earmarked for community incentives, staking rewards, and ecosystem growth, with user incentives and airdrops explicitly carved out as part of the community bucket.

Personal Review Block: One of the AirdropBuzz testers ran through the idOS App today on chrome browser, connected an EVM wallet, completed the FaceSign proof-of-personhood check, and monitored how Quest Points and Social Points updated in the leaderboard in real time.

• Points after full onboarding: 100 points (profile + FaceSign + core quests).
• Daily routine: 1 daily check-in + occasional simple social quests (likes, reposts, quote tweets).
• Issues encountered: mobile wallet connection is still weaker than desktop; desktop browser with extensions works best.
• Season / Epoch: Epoch II leading into the newly announced Epoch Ω, which will run up to just before the mid-Q1 2026 TGE.

Overall, the flow feels more like onboarding to a serious fintech product than a typical “click some buttons and hope for an airdrop” farm. The KYC component (FaceSign PoP) is central, and idOS clearly optimizes for one-human-one-profile rather than multi-wallet farming. That cuts both ways: great for fair distribution, less attractive for farmers who prefer to stay fully anonymous.

Time vs Reward: Is the IDOS Airdrop Worth Your Time?

The big unlock is that the team has now publicly committed to launching the IDOS token in mid Q1 2026, shifting from the earlier Q4 2025 TGE guidance. That gives the points program a clear “final stretch” window. According to idOS’ own docs, IDOS has a fixed 1B supply with a 41.3% community allocation, including a dedicated user incentives & airdrops bucket plus staking rewards and community reserves. While exact snapshot rules and per-wallet allocations are not fully published, points are one of the main signals they use to assess engagement before TGE.

From an airdrop hunter’s perspective, this is a classic “infra with serious backers” play. You’re trading KYC + some time for exposure to a token that will secure a network used by stablecoin apps, neobanks, and other financial primitives—not a meme coin gamble. If idOS becomes the default identity layer for several major ecosystems, early users with strong point balances could see solid upside.

However, reward certainty is low: points are explicitly off-chain, non-transferable, and have no guaranteed 1:1 mapping to tokens. Airdrops are discretionary, may change, and distributions only happen after TGE. If you hate KYC or only want guaranteed, simple “bridge-and-swap” campaigns, this one may feel like more work than you’d like.

Our quick take: For KYC-comfortable users bullish on decentralized identity infra, idOS is worth the ~25 minutes setup plus light daily maintenance. For strict privacy maxis, skip and focus on non-KYC airdrops instead.

Risks & Things to Watch

First, this is a KYC-adjacent product. You’re doing a biometric-based proof-of-personhood (FaceSign) and storing sensitive credentials in an off-chain decentralized storage network. While idOS emphasizes encrypted, self-custodial data and provides a transparency/legal documentation stack, you should be comfortable with this model before proceeding.

Second, airdrops are not guaranteed. The team states that incentive programs—and even the airdrops themselves—are discretionary, can change or be discontinued, and always depend on regulatory constraints. Citizens and residents of FATF/EU high-risk countries and other “Restricted Jurisdictions” are explicitly excluded from the app and related campaigns. Always review the User Agreement, Transparency Document, and any regional restrictions before farming.

Step-by-Step Guide: How to Join the idOS Airdrop (Points Campaign)

1. Go to the official idOS App (with referral)

   Open app.idos.network in a desktop browser like Chrome or Brave. Make sure your preferred wallet extension (e.g., MetaMask, Rabby, Coinbase Wallet) is installed and unlocked.

2. Connect your wallet

   Click “Connect wallet” and choose your network/wallet combo. idOS currently supports multiple chains and wallets; EVM wallets are the most straightforward for most users. Confirm the standard connection prompt in your wallet.

3. Create your idOS Profile

   Follow the on-screen flow to create a profile. This typically includes:

   • Confirming your wallet as the controller of the profile.
   • Accepting the User Agreement and acknowledging key legal points.

4. Complete the FaceSign Proof-of-Personhood (PoP) check

   idOS uses a biometric PoP system to ensure one human per profile and limit sybil farming. You’ll be asked to perform a face scan via webcam or mobile handoff. The system converts this into an anonymized “FaceVector” rather than storing your actual photo. Follow all prompts carefully to avoid failed checks.

5. Verify your credentials and finish the core onboarding quests

   Once your profile and PoP are in place, you’ll see them as credentials in the app. Complete any remaining “core” quests (e.g., email confirmation, additional profile details) to secure the base chunk of idOS App points.

6. Open the “Points” tab

   Head to the Points tab in the app. This is your farming hub. Here you’ll find:

   • Your Total Points and leaderboard rank for the current Epoch.
   • Quest categories like “Core,” “Social,” “Referrals,” and any time-limited tasks.
   • Progress indicators for completed vs remaining quests.
7. Start with easy Social quests

   Connect your X (Twitter) account if you’re comfortable, and complete the simple social quests: follows, likes, reposts, quote tweets, etc. These are low effort and tend to give a decent chunk of points for the time spent, especially at the start of a campaign.

8. Claim your daily check-in

   Each day, come back to the Points tab and hit the daily check-in button to earn a small but consistent stream of points. This is where the “1–2 minutes/day” from our verdict table comes from—set a reminder if you want to squeeze the most out of the season.

9. Invite friends for the referral multiplier (optional)

   If you’re comfortable sharing, grab your personal referral link from inside the app and invite friends. idOS currently offers up to a 3x (300%) referral multiplier on points depending on how many active referrals you bring in. Always double-check the exact referral rules in the app, as terms and multipliers can change between phases.

10. Stay active through Epoch Ω and up to the mid-Q1 2026 TGE

    At the time of writing, the campaign is moving from Epoch II to Epoch Ω, which will run until just before the IDOS Token Generation Event, now scheduled for mid Q1 2026. Expect new quests, updated leaderboards, and potentially additional ways to earn Contribution Points alongside regular Quest Points. Keep farming until the epoch ends; airdrop eligibility and allocation will be assessed before TGE, with any token distributions happening afterward.
