News brief: Optimism reported the following development on October 7, 2026, 08:42 UTC.
What happened
Overview ImportantThis is a recommended release for op-batcher operators running with --data-availability-type=auto, and an optional one for everyone else. It contains corrected calldata pricing on L1 chains that have activated Glamsterdam, and the removal of the server-side RPC metrics.
Why it matters: what to verify
For network developments, distinguish an announcement from a deployed upgrade. Check rollout dates, affected users and any migration steps in official documentation.
What this means for airdrop research
This report is not confirmation of an airdrop, snapshot or claim. Verify any campaign separately through official project channels before connecting a wallet or paying fees.
Source and reporting limits
